Cyberwar – Real Threat? From Whom? China? – or Scaremongering?
Cyberwar – Real Threat? From Whom? China? – or Scaremongering? This could be fanciful; it could be propaganda. It sounds like there is no Real Evidence. And how credible today are the Press – and their ‘stories’? All that aside; … Continue reading
America Is Finally Closing Prisons. Now What Do We Do With Them?
America Is Finally Closing Prisons. Now What Do We Do With Them?. Unfortunately we in the UK can’t send our prisoners to Australia any more (since a long, long time!). But our own facilities at home are near to bursting … Continue reading

I was very moved by this video and it’s poignant reminders of the strengths, character and commitment of our police – most of them. But … they need to share the economic pain with the rest of the community. But this is a reminder that we must be careful not to let such sharing of this pain become unreasonable and undermine the very quality of the police and the confidence with which we can depend on them when the proverbial hits the fan. In short: take care we are not in danger of throwing the baby out with the water! This was a good sobering reminder.
We Need ‘Broken Windows’ for Traffic Crimes
We Need ‘Broken Windows’ for Traffic Crimes. Sure , this is new York and like most things in US it’s a lot bigger and – in this case – more violent than here in ‘quaint li’l old England’. But although … Continue reading
The British National Health Service – NHS – is GOOD! Shout about it – don’t ‘do it down’.
I have been a patient of the NHS quite a few times over the last 10 years or so – and on each occasion I have come away admiring the service, the people and the way it works. I have … Continue reading
